FAQ RS256
General
The hard drive is not recognized by the system.
Option 1:
Check if the USB cable is properly connected. Option 2:
Pr Please check whether the hard disk was correctly unlocked with the key provided.
Files cannot be written
Make sure the hard drive is formatted with the correct file system for your operating system. The NFTS file system can only be used by Windows users.
I lost one or both keys.

The disk is not recognized
Possibility 1:
Drive icon is not displayed:
Make sure the RS256 is not connected to a USB hub or an extension cable.
Possibility 2:
Missing formatting / partition or unreadable file system:
Read the chapter Partitioning / formatting in the administrator or user manual for more information.
Option 3:
A low-quality cable is used:
Please use the USB cables included in the scope of delivery and connect the USB connector to your host system.
The disk is running slowly
Please check if you are using at least a USB 3.0 cable. The RS256 cannot reach its normal read and write speeds if you use a USB 2.0 cable instead of a USB 3.0 cable.
Please check whether the RS256 is correctly connected to a USB interface.
If the storage device is still working slowly, please check the following options:Option 1:
Another USB-Cable is used:
Please use the included USB cable and connect the USB connector to your host system.
A longer one / Too long USB- can reduce the reading and writing speed of the RS256.
Possibility 2:
Incorrect connection:
Check whether the USB port is firmly connected to the USB port of your host system.
Option 3:
The RS256 was connected via a USB hub:
Make sure the RS256 is not connected to a USB hub or an extension cable. A USB hub and/or extension cable can reduce the reading and writing speed of the RS256.
Possibility 4:
Other devices with the same connection are connected:
Please remove all other USB devices and see if the RS256 then works faster.
