FAQ HS256 S3

Possibility 1:
The keypad is not illuminated
Check whether the USB connections of the HS256 S3 and the host system are firmly connected are connected.

Option 2:
The„ERROR” LED flashes
Check whether a valid smart card has been inserted and the orientation is correct. The smart card must be inserted with the contacts facing down.

Feature:
The „ERROR” LED is flashing
An incorrect PIN was entered. Press the „ESC” button to confirm the security prompt again start. (You have a maximum of 8 attempts).

Possibility 1:
Drive icon not showing:
Make sure the HS256 S3 is not connected to a USB hub or extension cable.

Possibility 2:
Missing formatting / partition or unreadable file system:
Read chapter „Initialization/Partitioning/ in the administrator or user manual. Formatting“ for more information.

Option 3:
A poor quality cable is used:
Please use the included USB cable and connect the USB connector to your host system.

Please check if you are using a USB 3.0 cable. The HS256 S3 cannot achieve its normal read and write speeds if you use a USB 2.0 cable instead of a USB 3.0 cable.

Please check whether the HS256 S3 is correctly connected to a USB interface.

If the data carrier is still working slowly, please check the following options:Option 1:
Another one USB cable is used:

Please use the included USB cable and connect the USB connector to your host system.

Longer / too long USB can reduce the read and write speed of the HS256 S3.

Possibility 2:
Incorrect connection:

Check whether the USB port is firmly connected to the USB port of your host system.

Option 3:
The HS256 S3 was Connected through a USB hub:

Make sure the HS256 S3 is not connected to a USB hub or an extension cable. A USB hub and/or extension cable can reduce the reading and writing speed of the HS256 S3.

Option 4:
Other devices with the same connection are connected :

Please remove all other USB devices and see if the HS256 S3 works faster afterwards.

Make sure the hard drive is formatted with the correct file system for your operating system. The NFTS file system can only be used by Windows users.
