On its 20th anniversary, DIGITTRADE can look back on an impressive success story.

Teutschenthal, January 14, 2025 - DIGITTRADE GmbH, a leading company in the field of IT security solutions, is celebrating its 20th anniversary today. Since its foundation on January 13, 2005, the family-owned company has made a name for itself with innovative products and high security standards. From the first encrypted hard disks to the latest Kobra VS storage devices, DIGITTRADE stands for progress and reliability with the trust mark “IT security made in Germany”.

A look back at two decades of success

“DIGITTRADE's journey began with the development of encrypted RFID hard drives such as the RS64, which made data secure and mobile storage possible. This was followed by the more powerful RS128 and RS256 models, which impressed with improved encryption mechanisms and more robust housings,” recalls Manuela Gimbut, co-founder and driving force behind the company. “Even back then, our goal was to develop innovative and secure products that meet the requirements of our customers.“

Another milestone was the high security hard drives, including the HS128, HS256, HS256S and the still state-of-the-art HS256 S3. These products offered not only hardware-based encryption, but also security features such as two-factor authentication through smart card and PIN, making them the ideal choice for businesses and government agencies.

The future of data securityToday, DIGITTRADE is once again leading the way with the Kobra VS storage devices. These highly secure storage devices have been specially developed to protect particularly sensitive information and combine innovative technology with easy handling. “With the Kobra VS storage devices, we are setting new standards in data security. Our solutions meet the highest requirements and are approved by the BSI for the storage of confidential data up to the classification level VS-NfD (classified information - FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY), EU and NATO RESTRICTED. The external Kobra VS hard disks and USB sticks combine hardware-based real-time encryption according to AES with 256-bit in XTS mode with two-factor authentication using a smart card and PIN. In addition, the crypto keys can be managed (created, changed and destroyed) by the user. In addition to DIGITTRADE smartcards, PKI-based factory, service and troop ID cards can also be used for authentication. The Kobra Client VS management software enables administrators to configure the KOBRA VS storage devices quickly and on a mission-specific basis. In terms of confidentiality, all stored data is thus protected against unauthorized access in the event of loss or theft.
